BRICs - ToDos Workbook

This website provides a free and private workbook and methodology for managing Multiple To Do lists. Many people search high and low for that perfect to do list management system, when all they really need is a cloud based spreadsheet and a methodology for managing your lists. If you are moving fast enough, there is no system created by others that can keep up with you properly. If you are moving too fast, you won't use any tools properly.

For clarity, the "To Do's" portion of this worksheet in this workbook has no programming functionality. This is just a methodology.

That said, the Workbook itself is designed with a "NAV1" worksheet as the first worksheet in the workbook. "NAV 1" stands for "Navigation1". Nav1 could also be thought of as a "menu1", "index1". It's just a listing of all the Worksheets in the Workbook. It does not update automatically as the worksheets are added and names are changed, but you can hit a button or select a menu item to update it. This is optional functionality and a good way to learn about the programming infrastructre available in a Google Sheet if yuo haven't learned about it already.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR COPYING / DOWNLOADING / INITAL FUTZING:

Select the "view/copy" links below. The master file will open in a new browser tab. When the file opens

Select "File > Make a Copy" if you want it in your google Drive.
Select "File > Save As" if you want to download it in another format. It may or may not work out of the box in the other formats.

BEST PRACTICES FOR LEARNING ABOUT AND USING THIS "SOFTWARE APPLCIATION" AND THIS TYPE OF TECHNOLOGY:

It's best to be working on a computer with a minimum of two monitors attached, or one large monitor that is big enough to view a minimum of two screens at one time. Alternatively have two computes side by side.

Put this Website up on one monitor. Put your newly downloaded application (spreadsheet) in the other monitor.

Skim or read all the information on this web page first then go back and start opening the applications. Without skimming everything first you may be stuck thinking about things that are explained easily a bit later on. There is no ideal order for written presentation. What's best for each is individualized and it's impossible to put it in the right order for everyone.

It takes more screens than many are use to.
It takes a greater ability to read than most prefer these days.
It takes a smart person to realize they should skim an entire page or document before they start deep diving into that which is of most interest.

We have dozens of other software templates to share with you. To keep our time and costs minimized, we focus on written education and documentation because it can be edited and tweaked far easier as areas needing improvement are pointed out. Written material also provides for much faster reference material when you need to look back at something. We may add videos at a later date. If so, they will likely be "dated" within weeks or months as we upgrade and change information and documentation, but so goes the game.
